WILTSHIRE LEAGUE: PURTON Reserves chalked up their first league victory of the season when they beat visitors Shrewton United 4-1 at the Red House.

Pete Temple gave the home side the lead on 15 minutes and then paved the way for Adam Woolford to add a second before the break.

After the interval Sam Collier got into the act, rounding the keeper twice to ensure his side victory.

Purton boss Gavin Brown was very pleased with the result and hoped the victory meant that the team had turned the corner.

Malmesbury Vics shocked leaders Bradford Town, beating them by a solitary goal scored direct from a stunning free-kick by Paul Ranger.

Calne Town beat Melksham by the same score, Darren Legg scoring in the first quarter of the game.

Corsham Town became the new leaders of the section following their 5-1 away victory over Pewsey Vale.

Rob Humphries (2), Adam Taylor, James Weston and James Highmore were on target for the Town and Neil Stevens for the Vale.

In Junior Division One, Biddestone Reserves gained their first points of the season beating Blunsdon United 2-1, Mike Few scoring twice in the second half.

AFC Stratton Reserves and Swindon Asians fought out an honourable 0-0 draw.

Aldbourne continued their good form, beating West Swindon 3-1. Trailing 1-0 at the break, second-half goals from Matt Fryer, Jamie Walters and a penalty from Danny Morton ensured victory.

A Neil Robinson penalty and a strike by John McDonough gave Marlborough Reserves a 2-0 success over Stratton Rovers.

Minety and Blyskawica shared the points in a 2-2 draw Steve Curtis and Will Wood for the home side and Dave Jones scoring a brace for the visitors. Westside and Wroughton also picked up a point each in a 1-1 draw, Glen Armstrong on target for the visitors and Rick Hewittson saving the day with a header.

At the top of the Junior Two table, Stratton St Margaret, County Ground and Castle Combe are level on points. County Ground beat Dynamobury 7-1 thanks to two goals each from Gary Ashford, Simon Lowe and Kevin Taylor and a strike from Robin Grey.

A goal by Alex Powell gave Combe a 1-0 away victory over AFC Abbey Rodbourne and Chiseldon Castrol picked up their first win of the season beating Blunsdon United Reserves 2-1, Don Hammond converting two second half penalties.

Barron Heating had Ben Kimber sent off after just 20 minutes but held on to beat Stratton St Margaret 2-1. Arron Wilson and Danny Scotford with the last kick of the game securing the points. AFC Rodbourne beat Westside Reserves 2-1, Dave Rendle netting for the visitors and Christian Bridgeman twice for the home side.
