A SWATHE of chances went begging as Corsham came away with only a point from Tuesday's clash.

The home side took the advantage in the first half, against the run of play, and the visitors came back in the second half with new boy Toby Colbourne grabbing his second goal in as many games. A fine display from the Welton keeper kept it level.

Corsham manager Colin Bush was disappointed with a draw away from home. He said: "We totally dominated the game. We need to be more ruthless, although I thought that Toby (Coldbourne) and Alan Griffin linked up well. Their keeper kept them in the game on countless occasions. Our keeper Craig Chaplin was totally unemployed in the second half."

Colbourne moved from Screwfix first division side Westbury United last week and is delighted at the start he has made. He said: "I have had a terrific start at Corsham. As a striker you want to score goals. When you move clubs you have to prove that the manager was right to come for you."

Corsham controlled the first 20 minutes with midfielder Jack Cullis and Colbourne both firing over the bar.

Welton went ahead on 35 minutes when their winger attacked down the right hand side, cut into the box and poked the ball past Chaplin. The home keeper denied winger Scott Lye on 40 minutes with a fine diving save.

Corsham waited until the 60th minute to equalise when Cullis ran down the right and played a perfect ball to Colbourne who drilled it past the keeper.

Corsham were denied a victory despite coming close on several occasions. On 85 minutes Colbourne burst down the right and crossed for Griffin, but again the keeper managed to get a hand to the ball.
