Ref. 72730-44A SIGN language that has been specially designed for communicating with tots has come to a Swindon nursery school.

The system has been devised so that adults can communicate with children who are too young to talk.

It also helps children to develop the ability to communicate their needs clearly to adults.

It is based on the same principals at British Sign Language but has been simplified for the children.

Nursery manager Cathy Parker said: "All Staff at the Little Star Nursery at Swindon College are now fully trained in Tiny Talk UK Baby Signing. We are one of the first nurseries in the country to do this."

Toddlers are taught to use the signs through a variety of methods including learning songs that use the signs.

It is thought to enhance a child's intellect and could mean that they learn to speak quicker.

Experts also say that it helps to reduce tantrums and improves the relationship between parents and their children.

The Little Star is the first nursery in Swindon to be Tiny Talk UK accredited and is also one of the first to be accredited nationally.

Anybody who is interested in enrolling their child in the nursery should contact Cathy Parker on 01793 498 430.
