TWO councillors were yesterday evicted in the second round of voting in the I'm A Councillor Get Me Out Of Here contest for the title of Youth Champion for Swindon.
The event has already run for two weeks, and is approaching its final week. Last Friday Coun David Nash (Labour) was evicted after receiving the fewest votes.
All this week the remaining councillors have been answering questions and chatting online with the young people from Swindon. The voting was finally closed yesterday at 2.30pm and by 4pm the results were in.
Couns Colin Lovell and Chris Shepherd have been evicted.
Still in the fight, Coun Chris Van Roon said: "I'm thrilled to have come this far, but I will not be resting on my laurels. I hope they continue presenting me with toughter and even more interesting questions.
The event has just under a week left to run, with the final two councillors going head to head in the online voting booths next Friday. The Youth Champion for Swindon will be announced at 5pm.
