SEAN O'HANLON faces a late fitness test ahead of Brentford's visit to the County Ground today although the injury epidemic Andy King had feared has thankfully not materialised.

The skipper has a sore hamstring and although deadly serious about wanting to play, joked that it was probably a result of all the extra running that comes with his new midfield responsibilities.

Fit or not, the 21-year-old, pictured, will stress some simple mathematics to his colleagues ahead of kick-off.

He said: "As it stands Brentford are level sixth, five points ahead of us.

"We want to make sure that gap is down to two points at a quarter to five.

"Hopefully the win at Peterborough will be the start of a long unbeaten run."

As for his midfield duties, O'Hanlon is happy enough but insists that instant assessments are unwise.

He said: "Two games isn't very long to get into a new role. I hope no-one will really judge me until I've had at least half a dozen matches."

Physio Dick Mackey is the man charged with getting battered and bruised players fixed up and ready for more action.

He said: "Sean O'Hanlon will have a fitness test on his hamstring and we'll just have to see.

"I'm hoping it's fatigue rather than anything else.

"There are different demands obviously playing in that midfield role as opposed to the defence.

"Christian Roberts will also have a test ahead of Brentford but I'm cautiously optimistic at this stage.

"I think Rhys Evans (groin) and David Duke (hamstring) should be okay but Matt Heywood's toe is not responding to antibiotics as well as I'd have liked and I don't think he'll make it to be honest."

King has been unable to add further new faces to his squad ahead of the clash with the Bees and the County Ground exit door also remained firmly shut yesterday.

Assistant boss Mike Walsh said: "We'll go with what we have for Brentford."
