New College's 2-1 defeat at Bromham could have ruined the Premier Division title chances of the Swindon side.

In a tight first 45 minutes a header from Bromham skipper Tom Paget was all that separated the sides at the break.

Bromham added a second from a disputed penalty soon after the start of the second half, the home side's young striker Tom Slater was adjudged to have been given a shove in the penalty area and Paget stepped up to convert the spot kick.

The College pulled a goal back with a long range effort from Steve Dixey but their chances of a comeback were ruined when Dave Pratt was sent off for a second bookable offence for kicking the ball away.

College boss Pete Horwat was none too pleased with the penalty and the second yellow card but thought the red card to Metcalfe was fully justified.

He said: "I know we are going through a bit of a bad patch but the commitment is there and we are still a decent side.

"It's up to us to roll our sleeves up and get back on the winning path."

Bradford Town took over the leadership following their 2-1 victory over visitors AFC Stratton.

The home side took the lead from a penalty after 15 minutes when defender Mike Little was pushed in the area and Tom Pang scored from the spot.

Steve Roddy added a second to give Bradford a healthy lead at the break.

In a much closer second half a strong cross was sliced into his own net by Bradford defender Mark Robinson to put Stratton back into the game but an equaliser didn't arrive.

Goals from Marcus Wallen and Simon Drewitt gave Devizes a 2-0 away win at Malmesbury, Nick Fielden and Rikki Summers netted for Calne in their 2-1 win at Shrewton and two goals in each half from Jamie Bradley, Gary Spence, Gerard O'Prey and Simon Alford enabled Westbury to run out 4-1 winners at Marlborough.
