FAMILY connections ensured Corsham came from two goals behind to jump up to fourth on Saturday.

An inspired change of tactics and goals from Alan Griffin and manager's son Ryan Bush saw the home side battle back from what Colin Bush described as a first half battering.

Bush said: "We took a mauling for 70 minutes but then changed things around and destroyed them.

"I have never seen a game turn around like this one did."

The manager was delighted his son scored his first goal in the PremierDivision after returning to the side following a douse of mumps.

The result against fellow high flyers Exmouth has given Bush's players confidence ahead of their visit of another title chasing side to the Southbank Bristol Manor Farm on Tuesday.

"They came up with us in the summer and have had a great season like we have. I do not think there will be much in it."

Bush was missing five key players on Saturday. Midfielder John Woods had a hamstring injury, Frank Coleman was still missing with dodgy knee while Dan Beck called in the morning with tonsillitis.

Midfielders Scott Lye and Jamie Lyons were away on duty with the Wiltshire U18 squad.

The manager is hoping that all five of them should be back and available for selection against Bristol Manor Farm.

If Corsham want to take all three points against Farm, then they must not repeat their first half performance on Saturday.

Exmouth dominated early proceedings and took a deserved lead on the half hour mark.

A long throw came in for the striker to poke home at the near post. A few minutes earlier Corsham thought they should have been awarded a penalty when Alan Webb's shot was blocked by the hand of an Exmouth defender only for the referee to wave play on.

With five minutes of the second half gone Corsham were two behind when a punched clearance from keeper Craig Chaplin fell to a visiting player who drove in.

Corsham changed their tactics and went 4-3-1-2 and within 15 minutes the tides had changed and the deficit was reduced.

A long deep cross came in for striker Toby Colbourne to flick on to Bush junior who volleyed in from close range.

The home side continued to press and with just a minute left on the clock grabbed the all important equaliser. After a goalmouth scramble Griffin popped up to earn his side a point.

Corsham are now unbeaten in the last 18 games but missed the chance to take their tenth straight league win.
