UNDER-PRESSURE manager Gary Skidmore has stopped looking at the league table and set his struggling side a target of five wins after Biddestone battled to their first away point of the season on Saturday.

After this Saturday's game against Elmore they travel to local rivals Shrewton before welcoming Ilfracombe. They then go to title chasing Calne in March.

With deafeats in allof their previous 12 away matches, the visitors were desperate to pick up a result to try and stop falling further behind third from bottom Chard Town.

With top scorer Luke Gullick on trial with league side Oxford, Skidmore was delighted with his team's point.

He said: "We were awful in the first half but did a lot better and could of won it in the second half.

"Perhaps we were fortunate to go in 0-0 at the break, but then we almost sneaked it at the end."

Biddestone have played more games than the teams above and are eight points behind. But Skidmore feels three points at home to Elmore this Saturday is vital.

"Every game is important now, I don't want to put pressure on the boys but I think we are capable of getting five wins. We have never played Elmore and don't know what to expect."

The manager is happy to welcome Gullick back into the side after his trial at Oxford, despite the fact the youngsters was on the bench for Chippenham Town on Tuesday night. "Luke should give us something extra up front. If we defend like we did against Shepton then we can take three points," he said.

If the youngsters trial at Oxford should turn out fruitless then Skidmore is confident the striker will stay at Biddestone following a seven day transfer request from Calne.

"I am hoping Luke will stay, Calne have some good strikers there and I cannot see Luke getting too many games."

The Biddestone players will be happy about Gullick's return after failing to register a clear-cut chance in the first half. The visitors would have been a goal down if it were not for the exploits of keeper Chris Snoddy.

An Shepton striker went on a run down the left, cut inside and unleashed a dangerous shot but Snoddy dived to his right to palm the strike away.

Ten minutes after the interval he was called into action again when a Shepton midfielder gathered the loose ball and burst forward.

Snoddy was up to the challenge and pushed his venomous shot around the post.

Biddestone could count themselves unlucky that they only took a point back to Wiltshire.

With 15 minutes left captain Will Edwards broke from the right back position and drove the ball at goal only to see it whistle past the crossbar.

In the dying minutes the visitors best chance came when Mark Smith latched on to a great ball from Steve Healy.

Smith delivered a defence splitting cross to Paul Poiner but the home keeper closed him down and blocked his shot.
