SHONA Watt admits Scotland's clash with Spain in the latest round of the Women's Six Nations Championship tomorrow is "a big grudge match.''

The Scots are still smarting from a 6-5 defeat to their rivals in last season's tournament, a result that cost them third place in the competition.

And the Supermarine Ladies flanker, who will win her 11th cap, insists there is no complacency in the home camp as they prepare for the Edinburgh clash.

"If we play as well as we are capable of, then we should win the game which is something that didn't happen last year,'' said Watt.

"We really should have won that match but we didn't and that makes this one a big grudge match really.''

Scotland have a win and a defeat to their name after two matches, a narrow loss to reigning champions France being followed a 15-5 success over the Irish at Murrayfield two weeks ago.

Watt added: "It's so far, so good really.

"We were pleased with our performance against Ireland, particularly our defence which is something we had been working on.

"It was quite difficult because I think we fell victim to a bit of doom and gloom after the men's heavy defeat to Ireland (immediately before her match).

"But hopefully, there will be anoither improvement against Spain.''

Tomorrow's match takes place at Edinburgh's Myreside Stadium, Scottish Rugby Union officials deciding to safeguard a cut-up Murrayfield pitch with the men playing Italy there earlier in the afternoon.

But the women will return to Scottish rugby's home for their final home match against Wales on March 13, a game that could be the second leg of a possible Triple Crown for Watt and her teammates.

They then face England in their final match at Twickenham on March 20, but she insisted: "It's Spain first and then Wales.

"But to play England for the Triple Crown at Twickenham would be fantastic.''
