IT'S YOUR CALL: THE new It's Your Call hotline has been inundated with callers out to rid their neighbourhoods of louts.

Around 100 people have called to shop-a-yob since it was launched three weeks ago.

Swindon's Crime and Disorder unit behind the initiative wants to hear about anyone who is shattering communities with anti-social behaviour.

They mean hooligans like 18-year-old Leon Morris.

Last week, magistrates slapped an Anti-Social Behaviour Order on the teenager for a six-month reign of terror in Freshbrook.

The order bans Morris, of Godolphin Close, from Freshbrook Village Centre for two years.

Swindon was one of 25 towns and cities to be picked for the hotline.

The Home Office hopes it will help make our town a better place to live.

Besides needing details of problems, the team wants to know the culprits names, addresses and descriptions. While they would prefer if callers leave their names and contact details, information can be left anonymously.

Once action is taken, feedback cards will be sent to residents explaining what steps have been taken.

The hotline 0845 605 2222 is charged at local rates and is for reports of rowdy behaviour and gangs, intimidation and harassment of the public, flytipping, graffiti and vandalism.
