The event last night was the idea of Swindon mum of 15 Sue Povey who has had children at the school for the last 20 years.

The show was held to help raise funds for the end of year trip for Year 6 children.

Sue, who was inspired to help raise money after her daughter, Katie, 10, told her the school needed money for its annual getaway, said: "It's a trip they all go on before they leave and go to secondary school.

"It's a sort of goodbye.

"My girl Katie said they were washing cars to raise money and I just thought 'what I could do to help'.

"I've had children going there for so long that it's a sort of thank you."

All 48 year six pupils were involved, whether it was making posters, selling raffle tickets or modelling.

The event, with clothes from Sargeo Kids in Cheney Manor, was the latest fundraiser at Freshbrook following a toy sale in February that raised £150.

The target for the holiday to Devon is £600.

Year 6 teacher and organiser Nicola Anderton said: "It was a great and the kids worked really hard to make sure it was a good night.

"They were all buzzing with excitement and practising their walks.

"We are grateful to Mrs Povey and we'd like to thank the local companies who helped with the raffle."

Raffle prizes included a day for two at the De Vere Hotel spa, a £10 voucher for Blooms garden centre and two tickets for the UGC cinema in West Swindon.
