IN a recent release by the Department for Transport they state that 743 speed cameras appear to be ineffective, with an increase in deaths and accidents.
And in light of the fact that two speed cameras in Swindon have been removed, one on Queens Drive and one in Chiseldon, is it possible to conclude that they are on this list? Or are any others in Wiltshire on this list and should be removed?
It so, would it be fair for motorists who have been fined for speeding on these sites with temporary speed restrictions backed up by a speed camera be considered for repayment of fine and licence endorsement?
