IN a follow-up to all the recent letters (Do you believe Mr Howard etc) can our Labour MPs answer the following questions:

1. After the Election, can they promise we will have no tax or NI rises before next March, or there will not be a 40 per cent gains tax on the profit you make selling your house, in order to fill the black hole in the economy everybody says is there, apart from Mr Brown.

2. Wales has lowered prescription charges to £4 and will abolish them by December 7. When our council tax goes up by an expected 20 per cent, can we expect the same here?

3. Today, I received a letter from the Army association I belong to, asking for donations, for a 24-year-corporal who had both his legs blown off in Iraq. He has been told if he wants the hi-tech prosthetic limbs instead of the NHS issue, he has to buy them himself.

This is at a time when it has been announced in an attempt to appease Labour voters in the Midlands, the Government is to give £100 million of tax payers' money to the Chinese firm thinking of buying the Rover firm.
