CALNE twins Steven and Graham Dean's football skills graced a Premiership pitch as they beat a side from Hull.

Lightning struck twice for Steven when he won a competition run by Reebok and Sports Soccer in Swindon for a second year in a row.

Last year the 17-year-old of Tern Close, Calne, trained with Premiship player Jay-Jay Okocha and Welsh wizard Ryan Giggs at Bolton Wanderers' Reebok Stadium but this year his prize was to select a side to play at the City of Manchester Stadium.

Steven said he preferred this year's prize as he got to experience it all with his friends.

His team, the Calne Town Chavs, also went on to beat Oliver's Army from Hull 2-1.

Steven said Eastlands was more impressive than Bolton's Reebok Stadium.

He added no one slept during the journey to the stadium as they were all too excited.

"We arrived about an hour and a half early so we went into the shop and then a bar upstairs.

"Then we went to the changing rooms and we were in the home one. Everyone was excited and they were massive.

"I went to the Bolton changing rooms last year but they were tiny in comparison.

"After we got changed we went to the practice pitch which was a kind of indoor Astroturf pitch.

"We passed the ball round in a circle and was organised by our manager Malcolm King, who managed us at Calne Colts."

At the ground the team was presented with a Manchester City football kit and a trophy after winning the game, which was refereed by a FIFA qualified referee.

Steven, who has been playing football since he was nine and has represented Wiltshire Schoolboys, lined up alongside his brother as he does on a weekly basis for Maud Heath Sports in Calne.

He added he and his friends went to the game in shirts and ties to make the game feel like their very own FA Cup final.

"When I walked out onto the pitch my eyes lit up. It was brilliant.

"The pitch was not how I expected it. I thought it would be faster because we were able to pass it around and play our own games.

"When you shouted because there weren't many people there you could hear your voice echo back but it was still amazing to be in the stadium.

"They were a physical side. Most of them played rugby and we picked up a few injuries.

"But we won and that was all that mattered after travelling so far."
