PURTON Helping Hand Carnival committee is hosting a family night at the village hall on Saturday, June 11 when selections will be made for a king or queen.

The selection is open to anybody including adults over the age of 14, with prize money of £50.

They will also be selecting carnival princesses and princes, aged 11 to 14, butterfly princesses and pages, aged up to 11, each receiving £25 prize money.

There will also be free make-up makeovers for the queen and princesses on Carnival Day.

The selections evening is open to friends, family and the general public and tickets are £3 for adults, and £1 for children.

The entry fee to take part in the selections is 50p. During the evening there will be a licensed bar and disco.

No entries will be accepted on the night and should sufficient entries not be received an alternative event will take place.

Help is also still wanted for procession route marshals and on the fete field to put up and dismantle equipment on Saturday, June 25.
