May I offer my most grateful thanks to my family, friends and all the Town Hall for making my special day of being installed as Mayor of Devizes a complete success.
The night before the installation my wife Susan, who was to become my Mayoress, fractured her leg in a fall in Sidmouth Street and as a result spent the next four days at the Great Western Hospital but, thanks to the spontaneous help of family, friends and the Town Hall, a possible disaster was averted.
I would also like to thank the young ladies who requested the emergency services and, last but not least, the prompt response of the ambulance service and the staff at the Great Western Hospital in their treatment of my wife's injury.
My heartfelt thanks to you all.
