CHIPPENHAM NEWS: SHOPPERS can get their hair cut and buy a new outfit at the same time now a trendy new store has opened.

Lyn Tarran, has opened Lindy Lou in The Causeway, Chippenham, where she cuts hair at the same time as selling clothes and accessories.

She said: "It all started because I ran a market stall for a year selling handbags in Chippenham. I wanted to do the clothes as well but you can only sell one type of thing on the market."

She cuts hair at the beginning of the week in one section of the shop and sells clothes and accessories in other areas. She said people often come in for a haircut and spot a new outfit or handbag that takes their fancy.

"I have tried to copy Camden Market, in London, with all different types of things for sale," she said.

"It's not done around here very often but it's something that's a bit different."

The 46-year-old travels to London once a fortnight to handpick clothes from suppliers. She just buys two or three of the same item so the selection changes regularly. Nothing in her shop costs more than £30.

She said the past three weeks since she opened had been great fun.

"I love it. The best part is seeing the excitement on people's faces when they see my window display," she said.
