A £1.6m care home extension is being officially opened by a television personality today. Bob Crampton, from HTV West, was invited to open Wingfield Lodge, a new wing at the Wingfield Care Home, Trowbridge.
The extension to the home, run by Barchester Healthcare, will provide accommodation for 32 new residents. Manager Linda Hallett said: "Elderly people can feel daunted by the prospect of going into a home. The policy here is one of utmost care and dedication to our residents and making old age meaningful."
The lodge will provide care for those who are physically frail or need rehabilitative care before returning to their own homes.
It will also offer specialist care to those suffering from dementia.
