HAVING recently been involved in a dispute with Swindon Borough Council benefits department over a so called benefits overpayment I would like to let people in a similar position in Swindon know that there are agencies in Swindon that do a fantastic job regarding advocacy and legal advice.
Mind, the mental health organisation, offers advice to people with mental health issues and does a great job.
The Wiltshire Law Centre offers a good, objective legal advice service regarding benefits, as does the Parks advice centre in Park North.
They all offer a great service to people on low incomes.
Please talk to these people if you have benefit issues. They really do understand and are professional and non patronising and they really do want to help.
