I HAVE noted with interest some of the comments made by various parties.
David Spencer (Partner at King Sturge) said: "The trouble is the minority always tends make more noise than the majority. I think it is about time the business community and the university fought back with its own PR campaign. I just think it is small-minded and narrow-minded and to want it."
Barry Lingard (Chief Executive of the Swindon Initiative): "There has been so much emotional comment about Coate. People ought to look at the plans".
Does he not realise, those who have seen the plans are incensed by the sheer scale of the proposed development?
At present the Swindon Advertiser is running a 'Swindon and Proud of it Campaign'. Do we really need to wear wristbands and T-shirts to show support for our town? No!
If this development at Coate goes ahead, what hope is there for the rest of Swindon?
