FURTHER to Elizabeth and Eric Elstone's letter (Adver July 28) I couldn't understand how two people and one cat can make so much rubbish.
We have recently moved from a wheelie bin area, Brackley, Northamptonshire. We had our two adult sons living with us and three under tens. Our wheelie bin was emptied once a fortnight and we rarely ran out of space. We recycled plastic, tin, paper, card, glass and we composted.
We lived in Newton Aycliffe, Co Durham, when they were doing wheelie bin trials, and we heard all the same arguments then.
I believe the benefits far outweigh any problems that wheelie bins may cause. Surely its better to have all your rubbish contained, rather than spilling all over the streets with the help of cats and foxes, etc.
