I WISH to respond to the letter from Clare Emerton (July 29) which complains about her local councillors not responding to a letter she sent to them concerning a planning application in Raybrook Crescent.
The letter that Mrs Emerton sent me was for information and contained a copy of further letter she had sent to the council over her objections to a planning application to the rear of her property.
While the letter did invite me if I felt it appropriate to ring her and discuss her objections, this I did not do, as the site in question had already been the subject of at least four previous applications. On the most recent one I had attended the Planning Committee and successfully represented residents views and got the application turned down.
If Mrs Emerton felt that this issue needs further discussion, why did she not ring me or one of the other Western councillors instead of taking this unjustified swipe at me through your paper.
