NATIONWIDE after seven years in the top flight of the Swindon Midweek League have been relegated from Division 1.

Curtis (31) and Griggs (29) were the major contributors in Southwest Fasteners' total of 134-5.

Marty Harmoosh took 2-32 and then in reply Dave Close hit a defiant 64 and with Joe Perkins hitting 28 victory was possible.

Once these were dismissed, though, Nationwide slipped to 119-6 and with it their hopes of survival.

Comptons disposed of Nomads for 83 and sent them crashing back to Division 2 after one season.

Andy Compton and John Baden each hit an unbeaten 36 in racing to 86-1.

Swindon Mortgages were limited to 93-7 by Castrol, thanks to good bowling from Geoff Halls, Jason McGinley, Will Nichols and Shank Garg (3-31).

Darren Milne made 25 and Mark Tuton 19 for Mortgages.

In reply, after the removal of Darren Rourke and Arran Dickinson, Marc Williamson (23) and Antony Spencer (39 not out) saw Castrol to a four-wicket victory.

For Mortgages, Andy Lewis finished with 3-39 and Steve Lewis collected 2-10.

Division 2

Fox & Hounds are down after one season, slipping to a ninth defeat to a resurgent Stratton.

Lee Colsell made 34 as Stratton totalled 101-7, Mark Wilson doing his best with 4-20.

In reply the Fox were bowled out for 86, Trotman making 24 as Ajay's 3-12 did the damage.

At the top, Wroughton Wranglers spoiled Purton's promotion party for at least a week as they gained a 22-run victory.

Mark McMeeking hit 22 in Wroughton's 89 all out, but Purton were then dismissed for 65, Alan Stratford the pick of the bowlers with 4-20. Barrett hit 31.

Griffiths took 4-32 as Motorola were restricted to 72-7, Wanborough's McMurray (37) and Cox (24) eventually seeing them to 75 for no wicket.

Division 3

Despite a shock loss to Intel by three wickets, United Churches virtually secured promotion back to Division 2. Intel bowled out Churches for 117, Rory Trevest took five wickets and Kannan Keerenan four.

In reply, Ross Taylor made 45, Tom Collister 25 and Will Brooks 21 not out, including a winning six, as Intel reached 118-7 to give themselves a mathematical chance of the second promotion spot.

Monahans have a slim chance of survival as they had a shock win over Swindon Litten Tree.

Tree were held to 30-7 and then saw the league sponsors race to 32-3, Trzeciak with an unbeaten 17.

Farook helped himself to 52 before retiring injured as Sevenfields posted 140-5 against Ashbury. The latter then fell for 114-7, Money with 3-39.
