Gemma and Sammy Brunt want Angelina back (16920/3)GAZETTE & HERALD: Sisters Sammy and Gemma Brunt have issued a heartfelt appeal for the safe return of their scarecrow Angelina Ballerina after she was stolen from their front garden.

Sammy, seven, and Gemma, five, have even made posters asking for the 5ft scarecrow to come home.

Angelina, lovingly made by their mum Carolyn for the annual Lacock School scarecrow trail, had been amusing passers-by in their garden at Corsham Road, Lacock since Easter. But late on Monday afternoon, she disappeared.

Dad Martin said he was half expecting a ransom letter to arrive.

"My girls are gutted. It beggars belief that someone could do this," he said.

Mrs Brunt said the prize-winning scarecrow of the cartoon mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina took a week to make out of a white fur shaggy rug. "The girls loved her," she said.

"My youngest was really upset she cried buckets. We really want Angelina back."
