WILTSHIRE YOUTH CRICKET LEAGUE: U11 Red - SOUTH Wilts continue to lead the way following a 40 run victory at home to Calne.

Luke Philpotts (23), James Haggaty 49 not out and Ben Ringrose saw South Wilts reach an imposing 130-2 in their 20 overs. Ali Javed took 2-29 for Calne.

The Calne innings was then dominated by J.Haines who scored a defiant 68 not out in a total of 90-5 (South Wilts 16 points, Calne 3 points).

Devizes conceded their match with Chippenham. (Chippenham 20 points, Devizes, 10 points).

In an exciting finish at Cannings, the home side gained a narrow victory by just three runs over Corsham. Tom Alsop (30) and Matthew Lever (25) provided the backbone to the Cannings' innings of 89-7.

Hugo Hudson-Wall (2-4) and Jack Beazer (2-15) were the main wicket takers for Corsham.

Michael Clubbe (34) led the Corsham reply but the visitors fell just short of their target on 86-8. S.Price (3-7) was the pick of the Cannings' bowlers (Cannings 16 points, Corsham 5 points).

U11 Blue

AN undefeated innings of 53 from opener Miles McLoad saw Swindon through to an eight wicket victory over Malmesbury with seven overs to spare.

Earlier, Malmesbury scored 84-7 with Jack Roberts (31 not out) top scoring.

Cameron Baden (3-12) and Arron Leyhal (2-14) were among the wickets for Swindon (Swindon 15 points, Malmesbury 3 points).

Biddestone conceded their match with Wootton Bassett.

Purton continue to set the pace following their 51 run victory at Shrivenham.

Callum Wright (64 not out) and Craig Miles (28) enabled Purton to total 115-3 in their 20 overs. Daniel Newton took 2-19 for Shrivenham.

Wright then took 3-7 as Shrivenham were restricted to 62-7 with Tom Swann (17) top scoring (Shrivenham 2 points, Purton 16 points).

U13 Blue

Westbury's game against Purton was abandoned. (Westbury 10 points, Purton 10 points)

U15

Mehdi Ibrahim (27) and Lee Palmer (20 not out) were the main contributors to Westbury's disappointing total of 111 all out at Chippenham.

Captain Zurain Qureshi (3-32), Uzi Qureshi (2-7) and David Brown (2-10) led the home side's attack.

Chippenham then reached their target with 8 wickets in hand after just 21 overs thanks to James Bull (29), Steve Bullen (24 not out) and Marcus Brown (32 not out) (Chippenham 21 points, Westbury 3 points).

An outstanding all-round display from Owen Alsop was the inspiration for Cannings' 122 run victory at Wootton Bassett.

Nathan Jones (28), James Page (22), Neil Clark (29) and Luke Rapson (37) gave the Cannings' innings a very solid foundation before Alsop (73 not out) dominated the bowling and took the visitors to a commanding 230-6.

Tom Davies took 2-39 and Aaron Stevens 2-42 for Bassett. Alsop then shone with the ball taking 5-18 in 7 overs as Bassett were dismissed for 108.

Alsop was supported by Jones (2-21) and Page (2-15). Craig Kelly (27) and Aaron Stevens (21) were the leading scorers for the home side (Wootton Bassett 5 points, Cannings 21 points).

Leaders South Wilts travelled to Devizes and proved too strong for the home side as Tom Pearce and Jamie Bennett both scored unbeaten centuries in taking their team's total to 256-1 declared in 41 overs.

Pearce (101 not out) and Bennett (109 not out) shared an unbroken double century partnership.

In reply, only Ben McGowan (20) offered any resistance against the bowling of Rob Pittman (3-3 in 9 overs), Liam Millner (2-18) and Arthur Webb (2-10).

Devizes were dismissed for 93 in 46 overs to leave South Wilts winners by 163 runs (Devizes 1 point, South Wilts 21 points).
