WILTSHIRE coach Alan Crouch said the MCCA Knockout Trophy final against Norfolk would be a step into the unknown for his players as the team has never played Norfolk.

He said:"It would have been an advantage to know their strengths and weaknesses but we have not had any negative games against them. I don't think we will be overawed."

Crouch said he had been looking at Norfolk's averages. "They have four or five extremely experienced players. It will be a tall order but we have managed to raise our game in every match so far."

Wiltshire qualified for the final last Monday after a rain-affected game. They played Cornwall at Corsham winning by five wickets. Norfolk played Northumberland away last Wednesday winning by 61 runs.

Crouch said his side was up for the game: "We have a three-day game from Sunday against Shropshire and then, as soon as that is over, we will start focusing on the final."

At the Shropshire game Wiltshire will include Kevin Blackburn for the first time this season in an attempt to improve the top order batting. Eddie Abel, 17, is unavailable for this match and Corsham's James Ashford-Brown has been called in as 12th man.
