CORSHAM Town have linked up with Southern League Premier Division side Team Bath as they bid to strengthen the side.

Corsham boss Colin Bush said he is in regular contact with his Team Bath counterpart, Paul Tisdale, about the partnership.

The deal would see Team Bath players appear at Southbank as Bush attempts to repeat last season's second place finish.

Throughout the Western League clubs have been linking up with Southern League sides with Chippenham players set to turn out at Melksham Town, Biddestone and Calne Town next season.

Bush sees no reason why his side should be any different. "The discussions are at a very early stage but Team Bath contacted myself to see if we would take their fringe players and give them some experience," he said.

"Certainly around this area there are a lot of clubs vying for the same players so to get some fresh faces from Team Bath is great.

"They pull players in from all over the country and during tricky patches in the season when we have a lot of games or people are unable to play then this link-up will be very useful. It is still early days but we believe the idea is going to benefit both of us."

Already through the deal Corsham have played young former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jacob Giles.

He appeared during Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Carterton.

Bush said: "We started off slowly and they scored midway through the half. Then in the last quarter of an hour we had three good opportunities but could not score. In the second half we dominated again for the first 20 minutes plus but they scored on a break and it was a sucker punch. As long as we find the net during the season that's all that matters."
