SWINDON'S art scene is set for a major overhaul to help it reach more people in the town.
Swindon Borough Council's Arts At The Centre project is part of a three-year plan to develop arts activities in the town.
Coun Justin Tomlinson, the cabinet member for leisure, culture and recreation said: "Our mission is to make the arts more visible, valued, enjoyed and easily accessed by the people of Swindon.
"This will be achieved by through working with our partners to provide a broader range of opportunities for people to both enjoy and benefit from." The review promises a higher focus on public art, as well as a research programme,
It is hoped the scheme will give more support to local artists and help engage more areas of the community.
It will also help increase cultural tourism in the town.
