THE Isis AC match at Sutton Benger again produced some big fish. Match winner from the 21 entrants was Glyn Loveday who took a tench and two nice bream for 17lb 6oz.

Vince Grillo had a mixed 13lb 13oz bag of bream, tench and a big perch for second and they were followed by Pete Townsend (10-3-0), John Williams (6-8-0) and Malcolm Ockwell (5-5-0).

Isis put in a good performance in their NFA National on the Grand Union Canal.

Adam Carter (K section 48/68 points) netted three skimmers in a mixed catch, John Bohane (G section 44/68 points) and Nigel Franks (E section 42/68 points) caught small fish for good team points,.

But lost fish proved costly as the team finished 58th from 68 entries, avoiding relegation but falling short of expectations.

Not one chub was caught in the Haydon Street AS match on the River Thames at Hannington, but the sport was even more interesting with plenty of roach and dace being caught.

Roger Giles fished a whip to take 12lb 10oz of small fish but had the misfortune of losing four chub. Second was Danny Gould who took 11lb 14oz, with Mark Jones (8-12-0) third and John Ford and John Godden tied in fourth with 6lb 12oz.

The Three Counties Junior match at Peatmoor was won by Kevin Covey with a 22lb 5oz haul. The runner-up with 11lb 9oz was Jamie Read and in third, with 10lb 9oz, was Ed Bryant.
