THE Thamesdown Transport con. How to increase revenue without increasing fares.
Introduce a no change policy and change bus routes.
The justification of Health and Safety and speeding up the buses is just a smoke screen.
The fares are conveniently set at 80p and £1.30. How many people will be paying £1 or £1.50. A lot I expect and now twice perhaps on using different buses for the same journey.
Also what about those more senior persons and others who have problems with small change or understanding the fares. So much for a caring society. They will now be put in the position of anxiety for slowing up the buses.
The 'public' in public transport has been lost.
