GAZETTE & HERALD: SPACES are still available for the first Chippenham Gravity Race which is due to take place on August 28.

The gravity race gives budding Formula One drivers and car designers the chance to put their skills to the test.

Businesses, clubs and organisations, local authorities and members of the public are invited to build their own non-powered gravity racer and enter the race, which will have Formula One and Formula Fun categories.

It is hoped the event will give an authentic racing experience, with professional timing equipment and starting lights.

Chippenham Town Council and the Town Centre Partnership have teamed up with the motor sport engineering department at Wiltshire College Lackham, to organise the event.

Organiser Emma King said if the race proved popular, it could become an annual event.

Entry forms are available from Emma King, Chippenham Tourist Information Centre, The Yelde Hall.
