A FRENCH cafe in Warminster has won first prize in the Start Up business awards. Bosses of Le Caf Journal, in the High Street, were presented with a cheque for £1,000 on Friday.
Veronica Wallace and her partner Joel Boehler run the cafe, which sells cakes, croissants and pottery from France.
Mr Boehler also imports and sells his family's homemade chocolate from a village near Strasbourg.
It also sells French tinned food, such as soup, and French bread for customers to take away.
The prize money will go towards air-conditioning for the caf.
Miss Wallace said: "The key to starting a successful business is planning.
"It was really nice to be honoured and we are really excited about the future."
Former cabinet minister Lord King presented the cheque, right, at the Wessex Chamber of Commerce business breakfast at Trowbridge Civic Hall.
