WILTSHIRE have recalled opening batsman Kevin Blackburn as they bid for their first win of the season in the Minor Counties championship this weekend.
Blackburn comes in as an attempt to improve the top order batting which has, apart from Damian Shirazi, been rather unreliable in the championship.
Blackburn has been one of Wiltshire's leading run scorers over the past few summers and he replaces 17-year-old Eddie Abel, who is unavailable, for the three-day championship match against Shropshire, at Whitchurch, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
Wiltshire's championship form has been modest this season and they are currently in joint eighth place in the Western Division and without a win this season.
They face a tough task this weekend as Shropshire have been scoring heavily in the championship this season, led by the former Yorkshire batsman, Gary Fellows.
In contrast, Wiltshire's form in one-day cricket this season has been spectacular and they are through to the final of the Minor Counties Knockout Cup at Lord's.
Wiltshire's opponents in the final on August 22 will be Norfolk who beat Northumberland in their delayed semi-final.
