Andy MissenA BLACKSMITH who was well known for his charity work has died aged 58. Andy Missen, of Woodrow Road, Melksham was a keen member of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB) and worked to raise funds for local charities.
He died at home on August 1 from problems associated with deep vein thrombosis. His widow Sheila, 54, said: "Andy was a very loving caring man. He was well liked and would try his hand at anything."
Mr Missen moved to Melksham when he was six. He attended Shurnhold School, in Melksham, which later became George Ward.
After meeting future wife Sheila in the Conservative club in 1968, the couple were married two years later at Melksham Baptist Church. Mr Missen leaves one daughter, Lisa, 28.
The funeral will be held at Melksham Baptist Hall at 2.30pm on Monday August 8.
