Debbie and Danielle Clark at the Arc Theatre stall (17367/60)WEST WILTS SHOW 2005: VISITORS to the Melksham tent at the West Wilts Show were invited to build their own dream home this year.

Traders clubbed together to construct the luxury home in the tent complete with kitchen, dining room and garden. All the firms were from Melksham and were praised for making the tent such a success.

Town Clerk John Crook said: "It was like something out of this world. I was quite emotional when I saw it.

"Back in December we nearly pulled out because we just couldn't stomach turning up with the same thing again.

"I couldn't believe how well all the firms worked together in setting up the tent.

"They were absolutely brilliant and I think it looked spectacular."

Students from the Melksham-based Logan West theatre company put on a musical performance to entertain visitors to the tent.

The talented youngsters sang songs from the shows and were well received by the audience.

Cllr Adrienne Westbrook, the chair of the council's town development committee, said: "We wanted to showcase the businesses in the town, that was the aim of it.

"We showed people that although Melksham is only a small market town there are a lot of really good quality services. The Melksham tent is always a little bit different and we always try our best to do that. My daughter came up with the idea and it just snowballed from there.

"We had 29 traders and they were absolutely fantastic."
