Sammy Connor with Westbury Beekeepers member Arthur Goodhead (30755/16)WEST WILTS SHOW 2005: FUN and interaction were the aims of the Westbury tent with activities and entertainment for all the family.

Highlights included the beekeeper association's stall where visitors could take a look at the live bees and have a taste of the honey they produce.

Sweet-toothed guests enjoyed the candyfloss machine, which was run by the Westbury Lions outside the tent.

Jenny Clements, chairman of the League of Friends for Westbury hospital said: "Everybody who visited the Westbury tent loved it. The children were fascinated by the candy floss machine and you could tell all the Lions because their hands had turned pink from the sugar."

Also included in the tent were the optical arts stall, a display of musical instruments and a toy white horse for the children to play on. Terry Clements, chairman of the Westbury West Wilts Show 2005 working committee, said the tent was a great success.

"It was superb. All the exhibitors were pleased with the results," he said.

"Everyone was helping each other out which made a very happy atmosphere in the tent. We'd like to thank everyone who made the tent so successful."

Organisers of the Dilton Marsh tent were proud to be the only village to have their own marquee at the show. One of the main features was the history society stall where visitors could begin a search for their ancestors. Kathryn Cundick, of Westbury, won the doll's birthday competition, which was run by the Holy Trinity Church.
