FC Chippenham put up a very brave effort against the league leaders but a last gasp effort to equalise didn’t pay off and a lightning quick break saw Warminster make it 2 nil with the last kick of the game.

Chippenham Youth soaked up a lot of pressure in the first 10 minutes and looked to be settling down when a careless hand ball from Will Summers gave Warminster a penalty.

The spot kick was driven low and hard but was superbly stopped by the firm hand of Chippenham keeper Tadgh Feerick and the resulting rebound went out for a throw in.

The Youths were rallied by this and then had their best spell of the match the best opportunity falling to Matthew Kirtley who had a shot just over the crossbar.

On the 18th Minute Warminster drove in a corner from the right hand side and a fine header put them 1 nil up.

In the second half the match ebbed and flowed with Warminster always looking threatening and putting the Chippenham defence under a lot of pressure.

Despite the rare heat of the morning and tiring legs Chippenham defended well with Will Summers making some fine tackles.

A long goal kick put Harry Vickers into a fine attacking position on the edge of the Warminster box, he turned the defender well but had his shot charged down for a last minute corner.

FC Chippenham pushed everyone up in an all or nothing effort to try and save the game.

The corner burst into the box but was scrambled away by Warminster who made a rapid counter attack down the right wing and with 2 men over in the Chippenham box the second goal was a simple tap in for the last kick of the game.

In the end Warminster were worthy winners but Chippenham were so unlucky not to have salvaged the draw.
