A popular TV antiques expert is hoping to unearth valuable historical items during two upcoming events in Wiltshire.

Former Antiques Road Trip and Flog It! star Paul Martin will be visiting Malmesbury on April 22 and Chippenham on April 25 as part of a tour of Wiltshire and Somerset throughout spring.

The TV presenter, who has a new Channel 5 show launching this year, will be holding free community valuation days in both towns.

These events will give residents the chance to have items that may be of value discussed, valued, and even sold.

Locals have been urged to bring goods ranging from antiques, collectibles, silver, gold, militaria and jewellery.

Paul is hopeful the day will unearth “surprising and fascinating” historical items.

“Wiltshire is such a great part of the country for hosting these kinds of days,” he said.

“There is so much history here and the people are really generous with their time and curiosity, so I’m sure we’ll see some fascinating items and learn lots from the stories attached to them.

“What’s exciting about community valuation days is you never quite know what will turn up.”

The events will take place at the Old Bell Hotel and the Neeld Hall, and will run from 10am to 3pm.
