Demolition works are progressing at a large derelict industrial site in Wiltshire ahead of the construction of over 300 new homes.

Warning signs went up at the old Westinghouse Brakes site, at Langley Park in Chippenham, late last year, ahead of the demolition of the old industrial buildings.

Pictures of the site from Thursday, March 14, show the progress of this scheme, with many recognisable buildings now completely or partly demolished, ahead of the redevelopment of the land.

The firm had previously been one of the largest employers in the town, but the old factory closed some years ago and has since been earmarked for housing.

In July last year, an application for up to 333 new dwellings was approved for the site after a four-year planning process.

The current phase of the regeneration of the land is being led by developers Vistry Partnerships.

This involves levelling the disused industrial buildings to make way for a major residential development.

Signs at the site indicate that this will involve some ground level surveys in the area this month.

The regeneration of Langley Park has already seen the construction of Aldi and Travelodge, and the beginning of a residential development undertaken by Crest Nicholson.
