A hit-and-run crash near a Corsham roundabout saw a cyclist taken to hospital.

The incident occurred at around 8.10pm on Thursday, February 1, as a man in his 50s was cycling along Pickwick Road.

He was travelling from the direction of Melksham when he turned right at the roundabout into Newlands Road.

As he did this, the driver of a white van failed to give way and collided with him.

Wiltshire Police say that the driver initially stopped but left the scene when it became apparent that officers were attending, leading to the driver failing to provide details.

The cyclist sustained injuries to his hand, hip and leg and attended the Royal United Hospital for treatment.

The force now would like to speak to any potential witnesses to the incident and released CCTV footage of the van as part of a public appeal.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are keen to identify the driver of the white van pictured.
