A closed Wiltshire pub is due to reopen “imminently” after new landlords were secured.

The Peterborough Arms at Dauntsey Lock has remained shut throughout December after a deal for Broadtown Brewery to replace the retiring landlords, Brendan and Michelle Watkins, fell through.

But now the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, which owns the pub, has confirmed new tenants have been identified and will be reopening the premises soon.

While no opening date has been confirmed at the time of writing, Holly Gauci and her father Kevin will take over the venue, which has undergone internal maintenance.

A trust spokesperson said: "The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust can proudly announce that Holly Gauci is the new tenant at The Peterborough Arms in partnership with her father Kevin Graham, who will be your new landlord.

“The Trust has been busy using these darker nights to do maintenance indoors, making the venue a lovely place to visit, and we look forward to the doors reopening very soon.

“Holly and Kevin are working hard on setting up contracts, new licensing, and suppliers, a date for this will be released as soon as everything is in place.

“Watch out on social media for the imminent opening and we warmly look forward to seeing you all soon for a lovely pint and a game of skittles.”
