A black Ford Fiesta has been parked in a bus stop in Calne for over a week – now police say the driver is coming to move it.

The car has caused chaos and confusion for over a week in Calne, affecting locals using The Square/Wood Street bus stop and drivers trying to get through.

Now Wiltshire Police say they have made contact with the driver of the Ford who has “apologised for the inconvenience caused.”

However, there appears to be no explanation as to why the car was parked in the bus stop for so long.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have been liaising with Wiltshire Council regarding the Black Ford Fiesta parked in the bus stop in The Square/Wood Street.

“This morning contact has been made with the registered keeper. We have been advised the vehicle will be removed today or tomorrow.

“He has apologised for the inconvenience caused.”

A number of residents and the bus company had contacted the Town Council about the car throughout the week, but neither Wiltshire Police nor Wiltshire Council were able to authorise or arrange removal.
