Forensics teams have been investigating after a car was driven at a pedestrian near a Wiltshire sports centre.

The incident took place at the Springfield Sports Centre, on Beechfield Road in Corsham, just after 6pm on Wednesday, June 7.

Police do not believe the victim, who left the scene before emergency services arrived, was seriously injured.

Investigating officers are now searching for the pedestrian and have appealed for them to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Rachel Winter, from Central CID, said: “We carried out a number of enquiries at the scene, including forensic enquiries, and officers are continuing to review CCTV footage from around the area.

"We are now prioritising identifying and locating the victim of this assault and we’d like to reassure the local community that we believe this was an isolated incident.
