The managers of a High Street pub say they are unsure when it will reopen after they announced their departure.
The management of The Smoking Dog in Malmesbury confirmed they were leaving the pub immediately, after just six months at the helm, in an emotional Facebook post on Friday, April 21.
They added that they were uncertain who would replace them or how long the pub would remain shut.
The statement said: “To our lovely customers, we are sorry to say that we are leaving The Smoking Dog effective immediately.
“We don’t know when the pub will be back open or who the next manager(s) will be, however we hope they will continue with where we left off - building the Dog back up to where it used to be.
“Thank you to the Malmesbury community and all our loyal customers for your support and welcoming smiles in the short six months we have been here - who knows, we may be back in the future!
“We hope to see you soon, John, Charlie and the Smoking Dog Team.”
The Smoking Dog is a Butcombe Brewing Co. pub on Malmesbury High Street.
