CHILDREN from the Noah's Ark Nursery School in Devizes were given a special workshop by clowns from Paulo's Circus, which visited the town this week.
Ringmaster Paul Carpenter invited the children down for the morning after hearing that the nursery school, based on the campus of Wansdyke Primary School, was raising money to replace its 1970s mobile classroom.
The youngsters were met by clowns Kakehole and Mini-Me, who put on a special show for them. The pupils learned all about what goes on behind the scenes in the Big Top and were introduced to Beaky, the circus duck.
Mr Carpenter said: "The circus visits Devizes every year and always likes to get involved with the town.
"The mayor, Coun Julian Beinhorn, attended on the opening night and money was collected for his three charities.
"We have also had pupils from Downlands School visiting the show and using it as a subject for their photography course."
If you missed the circus during its visit to Devizes, you can still catch it in Trowbridge until bank holiday Monday and then Chippenham. For more information, ring 0702 112 5454.
The nursery school is holding a fundraising golf day at Upavon Golf Club on Friday May 9 from 12.30pm. To book a place ring Richard Blake on (01980) 630281.
