PEOPLE are being invited to discover how the flexible bus services in Wiltshire can benefit them at a series of roadshows around the county.

Connect 2 Wiltshire, the new name for all Wiltshire County Council's bookable public transport services, incorporates the Wigglybus, RUH Hopper and Boomerang.

Connect 2 Wiltshire will use the experience the county council has gained while operating these and build on it for the future.

It is part of the county council's drive to offer value for money services to local communities.

Tim Reynolds, Wiltshire County Council's Connect 2 Wiltshire manager, said: "One reason we are holding roadshows is to allow the public to see that the Wigglybuses have not disappeared, but have simply been replaced by Connect 2 Wiltshire.

"We also want to demonstrate why we believe the revamp gives rural people a better service, offers better links to meet up with other buses and will help people travel further."

The newly painted buses will be on show for a closer look at the roadshows and people will be able to discover how accessible they are, with low floor vehicles fitted, wheelchair lifts and ramps.

County council staff will be available at each roadshow to answer any questions, explain how the service works and give out travel information.

The roadshows run from 10am to 4pm at the following locations: Mere, at the Co-op on Monday, October 22 Pewsey, at the Co-op on Tuesday, October 23 Marlborough, in the High Street near the market on Wednesday, October 31 Devizes, in the market on Thursday, November 1 Calne, in the car park next to the market on Friday, November 2 To find more information on Connect 2 Wiltshire and all of Wiltshire County Council's services, please visit www.wiltshire.gov.uk.
