Barry Corr scored on his comeback from injury as Town reserves beat Exeter City 3-1 at the County Ground.

The burly Irishman has not featured in a Town shirt since the end of last season, but he lasted more than 60 minutes in a comfortable victory over the Grecians yesterday.

Corr, pictured right, said he felt nervous before the match, but afterwards admitted he was just glad to get back on the goal trail.

"It was great to be back out there after what has been a long time out of the game," he said.

"The manager only wanted me to play half an hour or so but felt good and it proved to be a decent run-out.

"The goal was nice but I should probably have had a few more, but that's just rustiness and as the games come my match sharpness will naturally improve."

There was also a goal on his return for defender Andy Nicholas, while striker Blair Sturrock netted late on to seal Town's win. Neil Martin was on target for the visitors.

Corr revealed he is due to undergo a final scan next month before he gets the all-clear' which will allow him to put his injury nightmare behind him.

He said: "Hopefully that will be the end of it for me. The Gaffer knows me well enough and I want to be back involved with the first team as soon as I can.

"I'd love to be on the bench for the Tranmere game but that's up to the manager at the end of the day."
