Swindon's unbeaten League start to the season came to an end last weekend when Yeovil Town claimed all three points at the County Ground, and on Saturday Paul Sturrock's men take the unenviable haul from Wiltshire to Hartlepool.

Pools accompanied Town up from League Two last season, finishing one place higher in the second automatic promotion place. Former Bristol City boss Danny Wilson has been at the helm at Victoria Park since June 2006, and like Swindon, his side returned to League One after an absence of just 12 months.

Hartlepool have won their two previous home games and lie fifth, at the head of four teams on nine points. That suggests a stiff task for Town.

The 4-1 win over Oldham is a margin not bettered by any other team in the division and striker James Brown already has four goals. The youngster made a breakthrough at the turn of the year, forcing his way off the bench when Jon Daly left for Dundee United. Brown finished last year on seven goals and Ritchie Barker and Daly finished as joint top scorers on nine.

Finishing on seven was ex-Swindon midfielder Andy Monkhouse who won the game for his new team when he returned to the County Ground in February.

Defender Robbie Elliott came in from Leeds during the summer, as did striker Ian Moore. Goalkeeper Jan Budtz arrived from Donc-aster and defender Godwin Antwi came on loan from Liverpool.

Last season began with victory for Town at Victoria Park when new goalkeeper Peter Brezovan starred with a double penalty save and Lee Peacock hit the winner.
