The picture in the Gazette and Herald on August 30 showing Marders Rendezvous Restaurant brought back memories.
In the early 1940s I was a Post Office boy messenger (telegram boy). For a period of about this time, I used to take a list from the girl telegraphists, of the cakes required for their morning break.
Then it was off to Marders to collect same. I recall a young lass, name of Nancy Greenman, was employed there at the time.
This was nearly 70 years ago but it is still clear in my memory.
