Dotty Pots ceramic café in Corsham is helping Dorothy House Hospice raise awareness for their Dotty Day.

Dotty Day is being held on September 28 to promote the charity in a fun way by encouraging people to go dotty in any way possible.

Community fundraiser, Paula Smith said: "Dotty is basically an abbreviation of Dorothy. We thought it would be a good idea for people to see what we do.

"Dorothy House shops will be decorating their windows with dots and people can go to work wearing dots. Anything really.

"It is also really fashionable at the moment so it is not so much of a big deal for people to get involved."

She added: "This is the first time we have tried Dotty Day and we really hope this will take off.

"And with the help of Dotty Pots it's a nice way to kick start the campaign."

The Dotty Pots café,which provides a ceramic painting service in the Martingate Centre, is helping the charity promote the dotty theme in its first year.

Carole Grover, owner of the Dotty Pots café said: "As our name is Dotty Pots I thought it would be good to tie the theme in and I wanted to get involved.

"On the day I will be selling dotty cakes and doing a raffle to raise money - people can still come in and paint a pot.

"We fundraise every year for someone and this year it was nice to have someone local and Dorothy House just came to mind.

"Today is about getting the launch some attention before next week."

Dorothy House needs £6,000 a day to keep going and always welcomes donations and new fundraisers.
